How the Roulette Payout Table Works
Roulette payout rules are set by the table layout, not the operator. A straight-up bet on any single number returns 35 chips for every 1 wagered — that ratio holds whether you are on a European single-zero wheel or an American double-zero version. The difference between those two variants sits entirely in the house edge: European roulette carries roughly 2.7 percent, while
the American version runs closer to 5.26 percent because of the extra 00 pocket. Split bets across two adjacent numbers pay 17:1; street bets covering three numbers pay 11:1. Column and dozen bets — covering twelve numbers each — return 2:1. Even-money outside bets such as red, black, odd, even, 1-18 and 19-36 pay 1:1 and are where most casual rounds are
built.
